The AS1130 is available in the small wafer level package or SSOP package. A single AS1130 can drive up to 132 LEDs, either single or multicolor. There is an 8-bit PWM for each LED which offers an 8-bit analog current control and an 8-bit global analog brightness control. This driver also features an internal error diagnostic to detect open or shorted LEDs. The device includes an internal memory capable of storing up to thirty six frames of picture data. Up to eight AS1130s can be handled on a single I²C bus and multiple AS1130 will automatically synchronize to assure smooth animations.
