Analog Devices’ AD7291 12-bit, 8-channel ADC offers application flexibility while reducing solution size and power consumption. The ADC can handle 2.5 V inputs at frequencies up to 30 MHz, and a two-wire I2C-compatible interface supports standard and fast speed modes. The device has a wide operating temperature range and can operate from a single 3.3 V supply, or with a separate logic supply as low as 1.65 V. To save space, the AD7291 is housed in a compact 4 mm x 4 mm LFCSP and integrates a 2.5V reference and temperature sensor accurate to 1°C. A programmable channel sequencer and out-of-range indicator with programmable high and low limits reduce host interaction, and the AD7291 partially powers down between conversions to conserve power.
