E3AS-HL CMOS Photoelectric Sensors | Datasheet Preview

Omron Automation and Safety’s E3AS-HL CMOS photoelectric sensor family solves challenging part detection applications using a red laser light source, a CMOS image array coupled with proprietary Omron algorithms, and a specialized lens. Together, these parts tackle the detection of small or thin parts and targets with different colors, reflectivity, or contours. With the enhanced precision of a CMOS sensor, even small variations in target surfaces can cause some undesired output; however, with the line beam, the E3AS-HL can average over those small variations and provide a very consistent output. The body of the E3AS-HL is IP67, IP69K, and IP67G rated to ensure that no water or oil ingress can short out the sensor while optional protective covers can be added to keep the lens clear in harsh environments. Finally, the E3AS-HL family from Omron also includes IO-Link, which can help reduce commissioning time and setup, as well as provide a way to obtain measurement information from the sensor. The 500 mm version of the sensor can show measurement values in 1 mm increments, and the 150 mm version of the sensor can show measurement values in 0.1 mm increments.
