Image of Toshiba Semiconductor and Storage Automotive-Grade Intelligent Power Devices The Toshiba intelligent power device (IPD), also known as the intelligent power switch (IPS), is a power-IC product designed for various automotive applications. Toshiba offers a range of high-side switches, low-side switches, and MOSFET gate drivers. These components feature numerous protective and diagnostic functions, making them ideal for body control and powertrain control systems, including the rapidly growing ADAS sector. Utilizing advanced BiCD (bipolar CMOS-DMOS) processes, these devices achieve low on-resistance, contributing to reduced power consumption and the miniaturization of automotive ECUs.

Intelligent protection and diagnostic functions
N-channel high-side gate driver or switch options
Can be directly driven from a microprocessor
Built-in charge pump circuit
Built-in short-circuit, reverse battery protection, and GND open
Built-in protection circuits for overcurrent, over temperature, overvoltage, and under voltage

Built-in current sense function (analog voltage conversion) that monitors the load current of external MOSFET by shunt resistance
Built-in the V_DS abnormality detection function of external MOSFET
Self-diagnosis detection (DIAG) pin
Built-in disconnection of output load and V_DD short detection function
AEC-Q100 qualified
