STS41A Series Automotive-Grade Temperature Sensors

The Sensirion STS41A-AWLB and STS41A-BWLB are part of their fourth-generation STS4xA digital temperature sensor platform, engineered specifically for automotive environments. These sensors deliver high accuracy (±0.2°C typical), fast response times, and robust reliability in a compact 1.5 mm x 1.5 mm x 0.6 mm DFN package with wettable flanks, enabling automated optical inspection (AOI) during SMT assembly.

Built on their CMOSens® technology, the STS41A series integrates a 16-bit ADC, an I²C Fast Mode Plus interface, and an on-chip heater for advanced on-board diagnostics (OBD). The sensors operate across a wide temperature range of -40°C to +125°C and support supply voltages from 1.08 V to 3.6 V. Each unit is individually calibrated and traceable to NIST standards, ensuring consistent performance across production batches.

The AWLB and BWLB variants differ only in their I²C addresses (STS41A-AWLB: 0x44) (STS41A-BWLB: 0x45), allowing for multi-sensor integration on a single bus. Both parts meet AEC-Q100 qualification and have passed +85°C/85% RH accelerated life testing, making them ideal for demanding automotive applications.
