ENS220 Barometric Pressure and Temperature Sensor

ScioSense's ENS220 is a high-speed, ultra-low-power, and high-accuracy barometric pressure and temperature sensor. This is achieved by integrating both the sensor membrane and the ASIC in a single monolithic die using all CMOS processes.

As a result of this construction, the chip size is minimized, allowing the use of a 2 mm x 2 mm LGA package for space-critical applications. It also enables applications to benefit from high speed, low noise, and high resolution as a consequence. Absolute accuracy of ±0.5 hPa and relative accuracy of ±0.025 hPa allow reliable centimeter resolution for applications monitoring height changes and positioning. In addition, the sample rate is user-configurable up to 1 kHz, enabling free fall detection applications. Battery-operated devices can benefit from low power consumption, with a supply current of 0.1 µA in idle mode or 0.8 µA when sampling at 1/60 Hz. The integrated temperature sensor compensates the pressure output and provides a 0.2 K accuracy, with both values being available through standard, fast, and high-speed I²C and SPI.
