PureThermal OpenMV – Mixed Visible and Thermal Camera

The PureThermal OpenMV by GroupGets is a high-end mixed color and thermal camera for professional applications. Sensors featured on this board include a 5 MP OV5640 camera module, a FLIR Lepton® socket capable of supporting any FLIR Lepton, and the VL53L0X laser range finder to assist in drawing the thermal image on the color image using the right offset/scaling. Live video can be displayed via the onboard 4.3" 800x480 IPS TFT capacitive touch LCD or mirrored to an HDMI monitor. Users can program the PureThermal OpenMV like any OpenMV Cam in Python to make it do anything they like via the MicroPython API. It is also supported by OpenMV and receives regular firmware updates as the feature set of the OpenMV software library expands.

The PureThermal OpenMV is based on the OpenMV Cam H7 Plus by OpenMV. Users can program it with the OpenMV IDE. The PureThermal OpenMV has TensorFlow support and can run Neural Networks. It can track colored objects, perform person detection, and much more.

Stream MJPEG compressed images at up to 12 Mb/s using RTSP or connect to the internet using the onboard WINC1500 Wi-Fi SoC (FCC certified). This chip is not currently populated on the PCBA due to supply chain constraints at the time of production.
