Image of Carlo Gavazzi’s RGC2 and RGC3 Solid State ContactorsCarlo Gavazzi’s RGC2 and RGC3 series product is intended to replace mechanical contactors especially when frequent switching is required. Capable of easily handling resistive and slightly inductive loads, these products are also certified for motor switching with applicable motor load ratings. RGC2 models are designed for 2-pole, 3-phase AC switching, and RGC3 models are built for 3-pole, 3-phase operation. Ranging from only 54 mm to 72 mm in width, most models are DIN mountable with an integrated heat-sink. Both models have a fan option with over temperature protection and an alarm output. A green LED indicates a control voltage presence. Optional system monitoring is available with RGCxxM versions that detect, mains loss, load loss, over temperature, and SSR malfunction. An EMR alarm output is available for remote signaling as well as a solid-state auxiliary output. Panel mount and through-wall versions are also available.

  • Rated operational current: up to 66 AAC per pole (or 75 AAC for 2-pole switching) at 40°C
  • I2t values of 1,800; 6,600 and 15,000 A2s for the I2t and 1200 Vp blocking voltage
  • Rated operational voltage: up to 660 VAC
  • Control voltages: 5 VDC to 32 VDC, 20 VAC to 275 VAC / 24 VDC to 190 VDC, and 20 VAC to 275 VAC for 600 VAC rated models
  • Product width in 54 mm and 70 mm versions
  • Contactor configuration with screw and box clamp control input connections
  • Integrated heat sink with fan option for overtemperature protection (OTP) and EMR alarm output
  • Built-in voltage transient protection with a varistor for reduced machine downtime
  • 100 kA short-circuit current rating according to UL508
  • Zero cross and instant-on switching versions
  • Designed in compliance with EN/IEC60947-4-2, EN/IEC60947-4-3
  • Conforms to EN/IEC62314, UL508, CSA 22-2 No. 14-13
