Current-Slide6

Select a current limit switch with a supply voltage range that is optimized for the application. Choosing a wider voltage range will tradeoff lower threshold accuracy and higher cost of product. The current limit accuracy is just as important because the threshold must be within the acceptable limits of the circuitry being protected over the full operating temperature, supply voltage, and continuous and peak current load range. If these parameters are ignored, there is a risk of defeating the purpose of having a current limit switch in the first place. Choose a switch with a low enough RON for the power that is expected to dissipate.
