Current-Slide2

A current limit switch monitors the current flowing through chosen nodes and cuts off the current if its value exceeds an acceptable range. This protects circuitry against damage from overloading the system and overheating. Current limit switches typically feature a fault output signal to indicate when the blanking time has elapsed, a reverse current condition has occurred, if the die temperature exceeds a certain threshold, etc.
