Image of STMicroelectronics' SLVU2.8 Protection Devices STMicroelectronics' SLVU2.8 is a family of protection device targeted specifically at protection of Ethernet interfaces, specifically gigabit Ethernet. Gigabit Ethernet requires that the protection device has extremely low capacitance, so as not to cause the degradation of the Ethernet signal. The SLVU2.8 family provides a typical capacitance of 1.5 pF, which is one of the best available in the market today. There are two devices in this family: SLVU2.8-4A1 (protects 4 lines) and SLVU2.8-8A1 (protects 8 lines).
