They are used to improve the efficiency of the systems, balance the power difference between the input source and the output load, and minimize voltage variation. Advantages of film capacitors are their ability to handle surge voltage up to 1.5 times the rated voltage, handle reverse voltage, and withstand fast charge/discharge conditions. Film capacitors can be designed for high RMS currents, have high reliability due to self-healing properties, offer long expected life, and can be stored without any problems.
