Noted on this slide are the industry-standard versions of Molex’s internal iPass family, specific to SATA protocol. The internal Mini-SAS / Mini-SATA standards are defined in the SFF-8087 specification; a 36 circuit interconnect was specified under this standard. While only 26 total signal and ground circuits are required for 4 shielded differential pairs, the other 10 circuits were allocated for “sideband” signals. On the PC board side, 75783 and 75784 series are the assemblies that include the SMT host connector and metal shield under the same P/N. 75783 is the right-angle, 75784 is the vertical version. On the cable assembly side, both straight and angled plug configurations are available. The customer’s application will determine which version is best.
