PCI-Slide9

PCI-Express jitter specifications, as defined by the PCI-Express SIG, grow increasingly more stringent as one moves from Gen 1 to Gen 2 to Gen3. PCI-Express Gen1 phase jitter specifications are in peak to peak jitter. PCI-Express Gen2 phase jitter is tighter and is spec’d at 3.0 ps RMS low band and 3.1ps RMS high band. All Renesas PCI-Express Gen1 and Gen2 clock buffers, zero-delay buffers, and clock generators have been designed to exceed these specifications to ensure maximum in-system margin for your designs.
