With a lower coefficient of leakage over temperature, the SBR technology also has a much higher thermal runaway temperature than a Schottky rectifier. When tested without a heatsink, the SBR has a thermal runaway temperature of 185C compared to the Schottky thermal runaway temperature of 130C. When operated with a heatsink, this difference is even larger resulting in greater stability and higher operating temperatures.
