Vishay safety capacitors are designed for Class X1 applications and compliant with IEC 60384-14.4 standards

Image of Vishay AY1 Series Autmotive-Grade Ceramic Safety CapacitorsThe Vishay BC Components AY1 series AEC-Q200-certified ceramic disc safety capacitor is designed for Class X1 (760 VAC)/Y1 (500 VAC) applications and compliant with IEC 60384-14.4 standards.

Engineered for electric vehicles (EVs), hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), these capacitors are ideal for AC line filtering in onboard chargers and DC/DC converters, as well as primary/secondary side coupling. The AY1 series delivers high reliability, withstanding 85/85/1,000-hour temperature-humidity-bias (THB) testing, 1,000 cycles of thermal shock (-55°C to +125°C), and ten 10 kV unipolar surge pulses, meeting stringent automotive requirements.

Available in capacitance values from 470 pF to 4,700 pF (±20% tolerance), the devices feature a copper-plated ceramic disc with tin-plated copper-clad steel leads (0.6 mm or 0.8 mm diameter) and straight-terminal spacings of 10 mm or 12.5 mm. Compliant with RoHS and Vishay Green standards, the AY1 series is halogen-free and housed in a flame-retardant epoxy resin (UL 94 V-0 rated).
