CU Series Circulators and Isolators

TDK Corporation's CU series circulators and isolators are designed for use in signal transmitting and receiving systems in industrial and infrastructure applications such as mobile telephone base stations and microwave relay stations.

Circulators are 3-port devices used to route high-frequency signals in a pre-determined path. The signal entering one port is only transmitted to the next port in the rotation. Signal transmission happens in a fixed direction (clockwise or counterclockwise) and is non-reciprocal (see Figure 1). Isolators operate similarly to circulators; however, the signal flowing into the terminal connected to the termination resistor is absorbed by the resistor and virtually no signal will flow from that terminal to the next. These are ideal for isolating return signals due to PA mismatch (see Figure 2).

CU series circulators and isolators are available in a 5 mm x 5 mm surface-mount package with a wide range of frequencies for existing LTE bands as well as 5G sub-6 GHz bands.
