IoT Test Node ITN 1200
NOFFZ versatile test nodes enable application-level testing of Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth®, Zigbee®, and Thread connections for smart home and IIoT devices
The ITN 1200 from NOFFZ is a test tool designed for developers, QA teams, and integrators working on smart home and industrial IoT (IIoT) devices. It can simulate multiple Zigbee and Thread nodes — e.g., router, end device, coordinator — allowing creation of complex network topologies. Through both a REST API and a graphical Web UI, it supports application-level tests (throughput, discovery, commissioning, attribute read/write, and more), making it a flexible platform for verifying behavior in realistic IoT deployments.
It complements NOFFZ ITN 1000 by adding Zigbee and Thread (and roadmap for Matter) support, making it suitable for testing devices that need interoperable mesh networking.
Unlike more basic devices, the ITN 1200 offers extended capabilities such as reading physical layer parameters (RSSI), custom cluster creation, and simulation of both standard and non-standard (custom) clusters.
- On top of ITN 1000 features (Wi-Fi throughput, BLE GATT read/write, and more)
- Emulates various Zigbee and Thread roles: coordinator, router, end device
- Allows creation of ZCL (Zigbee Cluster Library) and custom clusters
- Supports discovery, commissioning, attachment process; handles MLE messages (Thread)
- Read/write of device attributes; read physical-layer metrics such as RSSI
- Two interfaces: REST API and graphical Web UI for flexible operation
- Development and testing of smart home devices (sensors, actuators) that use Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, and Thread
- Verifying device behavior under mesh networking, including roles and routing
- Automated integration testing (commissioning, interoperability)
- Qualification of devices before deployment in industrial IoT settings
- Preparing for upcoming standards like Matter (roadmap feature)
