These modules are specifically designed to deliver extremely-high performance at lower output voltages, as required by future high-speed digital processor cores.

The package includes power MOSFETs, PWM controller, inductor, and input and output capacitors. This highly integrated solution accelerates system design and expedites time-to-market. The internal MOSFETs and inductor are optimized to achieve high efficiency at low output voltage. The Microchip Hyper-Speed Control™ architecture enables ultra-fast load transient response, while reducing the required output capacitance.

The family features adjustable current limit and a programmable switching frequency from 200 kHz to 600 kHz. It also includes under-voltage lockout to ensure proper operation under power-sag conditions, internal soft-start to reduce inrush current, fold-back current limit, "hiccup" mode short-circuit protection, and thermal shutdown. The MIC45208 is available in a 52-pin 10 mm x 10 mm QFN with a junction operating temperature range from –40°C to +125°C.
