Digi-Key Now Stocking New CSR/CSRN Series of Thick Film Current Sense Chip Resistors from Stackpole Electronics, Inc.

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minnesota, USA - May 26, 2009

Electronic components distributor Digi-Key Corporation, recognized by design engineers as having the industry's broadest selection of electronic components available for immediate shipment, announced today that it is now stocking Stackpole Electronics' new low-cost CSR/CSRN Series of thick film current sense chip resistors for low board temperature requirements.

These products, slated to be featured in future print and online catalogs, are available for immediate shipment on Digi-Key's global websites. Sizes available include 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206, 2010, and 2512. In addition to standard tape and reel packaging, these resistors are available in cut tape quantities. A smaller quantity can also be ordered for same-day shipment on a custom Digi-Reel®.

The CSR/CSRN Series of thick film current sense chip resistors are designed to offer a low-cost solution for low resistance value requirements where high temperature and low TCR are less important. The inexpensive thick film technology provides TCR that is 200 ppm or better for most sizes and still is able to supply one percent tolerances as standard. The thick film resistive element is inherently moisture resistant due to its glasslike nature.

Thick film current sense resistors have become the most commonly used technology for many current sensing applications where the environmental conditions are less harsh. These applications include all types of office equipment, including copiers, computers, and monitors, communications and networking equipment, and even some appliances and low-power electric power tools.
