Digi-Key Corporation and SANYO Energy (USA) Corporation Ink Distribution Agreement

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minnesota, USA - February 15, 2007

Digi-Key Corporation and SANYO Energy (USA) Corporation announced today the signing of a distribution agreement.

SANYO Energy (USA) Corporation, part of the SANYO Electric Group, utilizes its vast research and development resources as it strives to create and improve battery technology to provide rechargeable power for phones, computers, power tools and a wide variety of portable devices.

Digi-Key is stocking lithium, nickel-cadmium and nickel metal hydride batteries in a wide variety of sizes as well as battery packs made with SANYO batteries. These products will be available directly from Digi-Key and will be featured in both its print and online catalogs.

“We are very pleased to expand our battery offering with products from SANYO Energy,” said Mark Larson, Digi-Key’s president and COO. “SANYO is recognized worldwide for both quality and reliability, and we consider this to be a great addition to Digi-Key’s product offering.”

“The addition of Digi-Key to our distribution channel will enhance our exposure to the marketplace and facilitate getting our products to customers who require quick availability,” said Masami Murata, president, SANYO Energy USA Corporation.

This new distribution agreement will enable Digi-Key to fulfill both the design and production quantity demands of its diverse customer base.

As portable phones, computers and power tools demand smaller, lighter, more robust power, Sanyo meets these needs as the technological leader in all rechargeable systems. Sanyo’s vast research and development resources help create and improve battery technology for today’s power-hungry products and include nickel-cadmium (Ni-CD), lithium ion (Li-ion), nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) lithium batteries, fast charge control chips and modules, and amorphous solar cells. With manufacturing facilities around the world, many Sanyo batteries are produced in Asia and distributed throughout the world. Sanyo’s U.S. headquarters are centrally located in Frisco, TX in the northern Dallas metroplex. This facility also houses our engineering center, which provides customers with complete mechanical, electrical and systems engineering support.
